Head-Roc EP Secures Distribution Arrangement with Liason Distribution
Washington, DC - 08/21/02
We here at head-roc.com are very pleased to announce that we have secured distribution for Head-Roc’s EP “A Prelude To: The Return Of Black Broadway” with Liaison Distribution!
Our distribution agreement with Liaison has created for us an avenue to have our products in retail stores and chains across the United States, as well as other countries!!
Many people may not know this but, D.C. Hip-Hop has been continually been shut out of it’s home market airwaves due to the “silent” scourge known as PAYOLA, which we all know plagues independent music artists all over the United States! We believe it is most rampant here in our beloved hometown of Washington, D.C., and repeated efforts to break its grip have for the most part failed. This discouraging situation has forced local independent artists to relocate, look for outlets in other regions, or in many cases give up their musical dreams altogether!
However, this agreement between head-roc.com and Liaison Distribution is a major step in our independent movement to provide top quality D.C. music to enthusiasts and fans on a global scale, bypassing the greed of cooperate radio and their cooperate record company bedmates!
As a major pillar in the development of the local scene here in Washington, D.C., through his membership and activities with Infinite Loop and Three Levels of Genius (3LG), Head-Roc has for a decade refused to give in to being denied fair play by the local commercial radio conglomerates. Head-Roc continually champions the call for local recognition from the ruling media establishments. It is a shame that such a battle even exists, but Head-Roc has been, and will continue to remain fiercely dedicated to the completion of this mission to receive fair airplay!
Liaison Distribution is a full-scale independent music distributor with over 17 years of experience in the industry. Specializing in moving vinyl and CD units, Liaison has continually made itself a viable distribution outlet for Artist who aren’t signed to a major label – with it’s most prominent client being the Legendary Hall of Fame bound Chuck Brown (Bustin’ Loose/I Need Money)!
